Bought 190E ( Big Picture)
First time I purchased a car on the internet. It's a 1993 one owner car. I don't have it yet but hopefully in a little over a week. I paid for it today

One of the inside. I had it inspected and even the inspector was positive about it saying "really nice car". Wife thinks it's ( she hasn't used any derogatory words, just said she's happy it's done , before was "buy a new one " )
Nah
Looks clean as heck doesn't it? What's up with the door panels on these cars? Do they pull apart on all of them ( some more than others ) ?? Is there a fix for it?

Thanks! I've done my own inspection so to speak and it seems to run a little warm . Not overheating or even hot hot but a little warm. Maybe it's time for a flush etc. A friend of a friend offered me a profit for the car which I declined ( see me next year maybe ).
I'm quite surprised at the amount of zip this 4 cylinder car has. Someone mentioned a chip change could increase it but I'm not sure if that's wise. Has anyone done that?
More info to come on this very 1st internet purchase of mine and so far I'm tickled. What a lot of fun and what a great car. A real 1 owner car, even the title is in the original owners name signed over. They purchased the car brand new in Indianapolis, they being in Covington in until it was traded in 20 years later at a Honda dealer. I have the original keys in the Mercedes key holder ( will post pics as soon as possible )
Really like the car. I was originally looking for a 300 turbo diesel. I'm glad about getting a gas car instead and the size is just cute

Instead of photo bank or whatever I purchased a website builder and am going to ask the boss ( my Wife ) to put a bunch of pictures etc on there, sort of an online scrapbook of the car. I can post the url when done? Stay tuned.

Thanks, it is too what they call "a real one". But they didn't maintain silly things like hoses and belts, it has a differential leak. It's in the shop right now but oh yeah I'm keeping it all original. Wait till you see the interior and let me say, there is not a single parking lot ding or anything anywhere to be found. It must have been kept in a garage with a cover over it. Not a single scratch anywhere on the wheels. Really a nice car.
I'll probably look to sell it after I find "the" 280sl ( if the wife lets me next year )

The wheels washed up to look brand new since that picture was taken. Not a single scratch on any of them. Building a website with the car. It's a long way from done and am getting all kinds of ideas ( will add a banner to the MBWorld.com and the mechanic shop that's doing the maintenance work on the car right now, here's the pictures and we have to also figure out how to add pictures into like a tv screen that will enlarge and have the option of clicking next, previous etc.
Enjoy

Good question as the car sold within days and has already been delivered to it's new owner in the mid-west. From the mid-west to the south then back to the mid-west. I don't know. I wanted to see if I could do it and how different it was from decades ago ( the last time I sold a car privately was probably in the late 1970's) and it sure was. What an experience.
I wanted one of those limited edition green color ones. I found one this week, like a miracle came up within a couple of days of mine being loaded onto a truck and taken away....................what could I do? What should I do? Would my wife give me any grief? but then I could always sweet talk her into anything.............and so I called the dealer, made him an offer and he accepted it! The trucking company already confirmed a pick up for this coming Tuesday/wednsday but this one already has a good story to tell. Maybe a couple of good stories to tell. Hopefuly next week though I'll give this baby a test drive before bringing it to Avenue Garage for a going over.
P.S. I was sad when I accepted the offer. But then when I saw the one I just bought, some kind of limited edition 1993 in Green. I'll post pics when it gets here but according to the inspector the car is one of the nicest he's ever seen and I'm stoked just waiting to see it in the flesh.

Update: purchased the limited edition 190e. It actually has a certificate from mba stating which number limited edition car this is. I plan to write to the new ceo and ask for further clarification. My car has the little slip to insert the certificate and also the original list price which unfortunately isn't with the car but the cert from mba is
The car was mis-described by a Cadillac-buick-jaguar dealer in ny and I paid good money for it. But it only has 42,000 miles on it and while it's been sitting away the years it developed things that needed to be fixed, a big bill for the a/c which the dealer neglected to tell us about and an inspection service that missed a lot. Needless to say while the car requires a few thousand dollars to give it the kind of roadworthiness to hop on I-75 and shoot down the keys at anytime, the work will be performed here by avenue garage fl. Stay tuned on this one as I'll start another thread with images. They are cool cars, sit I think 1/2 inch lower than the non limiteds, have a real buttery soft high grade leather interior and apparently were numbered from the factory. Mine is one of the first couple dozen manufactured
Not sure if it's going up for sale or if I'm keeping it. I almost bought a 560sl last week and had I done that I probably would have listed it on hemmings etc ( the 190e ) but maybe not, we'll see.

Are you located in Ft. Myers by any chance?
As an FYI, I might be selling an extremely rare, Euro Spec (lighter, more powerful) 190E 2.3-16V Cosworth, babied, FULLY DOCUMENTED, with only 50k miles on the clock.
Haven't decided yet, but I own three 190E's at this point, plus five other cars and I've been thinking about downsizing for a while.
