Car has no power after shift (5 speed)

So this is what's going on.
After shifting up a gear (stick shift) I get almost no power and the car jerks forward once, really hard. It's like a clutch is slipping but the rpms drop like a rock and no power for a couple second then it comes back after a bit. It happens especially in 2nd and 3rd. If I take the rpm up higher close to 5k+ before shifting and pull the clutch out slow while keeping the rpm up it doesn't do it nearly as bad. But that's starting not to be as effective anymore.
Next up, back fire out of intake if I cycle the revs between 1k and 1,650 repetively. This has gone away after some throttle cable adjustments.
But now I have a weird squeak, almost like a mouse or a sneeze from around the power steering pump area.
When the car shifts extremely hard sometimes the abs light will pop on. Restarting the car clears this. But the abs light will always come on at 55mph like clock work.
I'm thinking fuel pump for the shift issue as it takes a couple cranks from the starter before it turns over if cold, but fires up like new if its been run recently. I'm having a shop look it over Monday, but that's only for a parts list for me to DIY. Any tips or comments on what I could be dealing with? My best guess is fuel pump and ovp..

Looks like my 198k miles 2.3-8v is down 15% on combustion across all cylinders and have a small amount of blow back. Power steering pump needs to be flushed and Benz makes an additive to fix this common issue. Abs module has a fault in the power lead but all wires leading to it at ok. Needs to have a connector soldered back. Lower control arm bushings are blown out. Replacing with control arm assembly from bilstein with pre pressed bushings and ball joint. Also doing struts and strut mounts, and break line hoses in the wheel wells. Do I need to do a complete flush/bleed on the breaks when doing those lines?

So the hard shifting is getting worse a d the fuel pump makes a whining noise, could my issue be more fuel related, then a tired engine?
