How to remove wiper cover to lube internals?

As my mono-wiper started acting up by extending off-cycle with the blade hitting the side of the windshield frame, I wanted to take a look inside and find what might need attention/lubrication.

Found a really good link for C280 cover removal...looks a lot easier than a 190 as there appears to be tabs to remove the cover.

http://www.202tech.com/howto/wiper.html

Not so on the 1991 190E...looks to be screwed on from the bottom with no easily discernable way to remove the cover; e.g. no pry slots to remove the cover as found in the link above.

Any ideas from MB 190 forum members?

I did spray some lubricant down the shaft to see if that would help...

Mine did the same thing. I drenched it in lithium grease spray. Didn't help at first but as it cooled down, (I'm in Arizona), it did get better. It doesn't cycle at all now but it doesn't hit the edge, so I don't care. Also interested in this though. So bump!

Id actually be OK if it didn't cycle

Don't laugh...I thought about trimming the end of the blade off so when it did cycle it would not hit the edge of the windshield.

Maybe I can find a slightly shorter blade and solve this problem in that manner; a bit of the tail wagging the dog but it should work

Smaller blade is a good way out.
