Plugs not firing, dead coil?
Hey guys my 1984 190e just went dead the other day while in motion, all attempts to start up proved abortive.
Now i've confirmed fuel is getting through the nozzles but the plugs are not firing,
i've checked the distributor cover, cables, plug cables, all seem to be fine.
i'm suspecting the ignition coil, but i cant be definitely sure,
i don't want to run into too many expenses until i'm sure
Please does anyone know for sure how to confirm a dead ignition coil.

spark
Spy1 you need to buy an electrical tool you can put in the coil to see if you have a spark. Not expensive from ebay.. Like a power tester only its for the coil. This is like the problem i had .But my problem was the immobiliser .Check Google out , -- how to check coil with digital meter . Or take the coil off and take it to auto garage to be checked. If the coil is ok it might be flywheel sensor or EZL . Keep posting how you get on .
