190E dies when reaching running temp
Hi:
I have a 190e 2.3 that I purchased ~ 1.5 years ago. This car had the good fortune to sit in a garage for 15 years but then the misfortune to be not properly started after sitting and poorly maintained for the next 20,000 miles/3 years. I have been through about every mechanical system and have a really nice running and driving car.
One of the major projects was to have the head rebuilt and at this time several sensors and the 4 main injectors were replaced. The fuel injection duty cycle is dialed in at 50%. I'm getting 23 mpg. This work was done ~ 10,000 miles ago.
I have a repeatable issue in that, if I decelerate when the engine is just reaching running temp, it will die. It will start up after cranking for 10 - 15 seconds (normal starts for this car, hot or cold, are 1 - 2 seconds).
I suspect the cold idle\cold start injector or some part that controls it.
Has anyone had and solved this issue?
Thanks
Joe

A lot of the work I did is detailed in a post here:

Since then I have gone through all of the suspension & replaced the rear wheel bearings (take them in to get them pressed, by the way). And yes, the engine light is still on.
