Mercedes 190E 1993 1,8 automat
Faulty TPS/throttle position sensor?

I have a 1993 190E 1.8 automatic, and I've been troubleshooting high fuel consumption, stalling and rough idling. After taking apart most of the engine compartment, I checked my TPS. The resistance readout is 0,4 ohms at closed and max opening, but nothing in between. Is this the way MB has chosen to make them, instead of a potentiometer? I don't want to waste money on a part that isn't defect.
