Swapping a 3.0 into my 190E 2.6...
I love my 190e, but I'm starting to get bored with the stock HP, PLUS I'm having overheating problems left and right.
I wanted to go EFI on the stock block so I can laptop tune it and maybe turbo whatever you know, but I was reading somewhere that the 2.6 and the 3.0 out of the w124 are basically the same engine and that it would be a semi straight forward swap. Is this true? I could find a wrecked 97 or something and that would help with my EFI problem, give me a bit more power, and I wouldn't have to replace every damn gasket on it like I'm having to do on my 26 year old 2.6
Also I have a 5 speed manual, and I know the w124 was like 99% autos, so the engine also has to be able to mate to my trans without any custom fab work.
Thanks yall
