if you've got simple hand tools and a jack, it's easy to do yourself. you actually don't even have to have a jack- you can use the cheapo one that's in the trunk.

Brake job complete

All,
Now that was an easy brake job the pads fit perfectly and the whole process took about an hour

Tools needed
18MM socket, Pry bar, Jack, lug wrench, a can of brake clean and brake pad backing grease

Here are the steps I performed
Jacked up vehicle (use jack point on frame)
Pop hood and loosen Brake fluid reservoir cap
Remove tire
Use pry bar to compress brake caliper
Remove two 18MM bolts on back of caliper
Remove caliper, Brake pads and pad guide
Unplug brake warning sensor from right side pad set
Install new sensor in inside pad install new pad guides in caliper
Lube back of brake pads with backing grease
clean rotor asembly with brake clean
Pop new pads in to slide guide and install caliper

Repeat process for other side
Install tires

And don’t forget to put the brake fluid reservoir cap back on

The only hard part was the brake lines don’t have much slack so the caliper is a little hard to maneuver

Save approximately $400

Highly recommend doing this yourself

Generally you don't need to undo the bolts on the caliper unless you were replacing the rotors, at least on most cars.
But good job on the DIY, such an easy a job a caveman could do it.
Pagid's aren't bad, about like stock as far as softness, and dust.
You'll get between 20K-40K out of them.
Ceramics are far superior for just a little more, last much longer and don't dust. Next time do a set of those and new rotors, and you won't have to touch it for years to come.

In the future, I wouldn't recommend autopartswarehouse.com.

You got lucky.
They have a very bad reputation.

But overall, it's refreshing to hear a happy ending to a heading like this.
I'd love to be able to just pay the mechanic, but paying myself $200 an hour instead of him is just too hard to pass up.
