Bulb holders for brake light in tail light assembly
Hello, Can anyone tell me where i can get brake light bulb holder (In tail light assembly)for my 1999 E 320. I searched in couple of websites, but they are not selling the holder. They are only selling the full assembly which i don't need. Please let me know . thanks.

tail light assembly
I have had far too many problems with rear tail lights After getting messages that bulb malfunctions and checking bulb which were ok....I finally removed tail light assembly and inspected the printed circuit that the bulb holder contacts rest agianst only to find a whole burnt through. Initially I replaced the tail light assembly ($110) but when it hapened again on the other side and on my other W210, I did a DIY fix. Instead of turning the bulb a full quarter turn I turned it only 1/8th when reinsatalling it and used automotive goop to hold it in place . No more problems until it also burns through (years).

yeah, this is one of those infamous weak spots on the 210. numerous other
DIY fixes have been posted on this forum over the years. i actually have a
Franken-bulb holder which i made for my brother's 00 E320 but didn't take a
pic. has worked well for 4 yrs since

Interestingly the identical problem occurs on 99-2003 Jeep Grand Cherokees. Somewhere after the Daimler Chrysler merger they forgot how to make tail light assemblies

so what if the post was last active 5 yrs ago? if the problem is one which is
recurring, any solution which helps to update the source of a part is relevant
and is useful.
however, i do get a chuckle over similar necro-posting whereby someone may
