No playable files? Memory card
Hi guys I have a SDHC card with a PCMCIA memory reader but for some reasons the MP3 files doesn't play all I get is NO PLAYABLE FILES.
What am I doing wrong?
I try files directly from Ipod also try to convert them into MP3 files but all says NO PLAYABLE FILES.

The files that you took from your iPod are likely protected files that have DRM all over them.
If the songs were purchased from iTunes, there is no way of getting them to work on that memory card. If they were imported from a CD, import the CDs into something like Windows Media Player and then put the files back on the memory card.
iTunes is really just bad news when it comes to using the media in other places than it and iPods.

Actually there is. If you purchased the music via iTunes, you can use iTunes to make "playlists" and then burn the playlists to CD-ROM. (iTunes allows you to do that) Then use a program like windows media player to turn them into MP3's. You can then put the MP3s on your SD card and into a PCMCIA adapter....then your Benz will play those MP3s nicely.

The best option would be to use the AUX jack/iPod Adapter. I really don't know what MB was thinking with the PC Card slot. Since you know, EVERYONE these days has plenty of those things laying around. SD or maybe even USB, at the very least would have been nice.

I just tried this method. It does in fact work, however the artist/album/song info is lost. Not to mention its a PITA. And it breaks many DRM laws...I'm a goodie-two-shoes, I know.

I leave everything in windows media format, copy to the SD CARD, and it works just fine.

If it doesn't work on your PC I doubt it will work on your C Class.
It doesn't have to be SDHC as well.
All just depends on your PCMCIA adapter.
I choose SDHC because I have a 8 gig already.
But so far still haven't get it to play music on the C-Class I think I have to try making the MP3 from my IPOD to WMA files.

The "mp3" on your IPOD are not MP3. They are an Apple proprietary format. If you bought these songs off of iTUNES, there is no known way to convert to MP3.
If you imported songs via CD into iTUNES, simply copy the song files to the memory card. This is what I have done, and it works great.
On another note, if you are wanting to use songs of a CD, record it to the internal hard drive on the C300. I've recorded 10 CDs and have used maybe 1/2 GB.

I've been able to rip CD's to the car's hard drive no problem.
rs1985: SDHC is not backwards compatible with older SD card readers, so that's likely why it is not reading in your computer. You'll need to get a SDHC card reader. If you computer supports SDHC then maybe your card is bad?!
Songs purchased off of iTunes can be converted in to MP3's through iTunes BUT you don't want to because it will sounds like an old cassette or radio quality.
To the OP, is your card reader SDHC compatible? SD & SDHC cards are in the same form-factor so it may fit in there but no actually work. I have a SDHC compatible PCMCIA card reader and it works 95% of the time. Once in a while I will get the "No playable files" error message, but I simply pull out the SDHC card and stick it back in the PCMCIA reader (without removing the PCMCIA card from the car's slot) and it works again. Odd but I'm fairly certain it's that my PCMCIA card has finicky connections inside of it.

The best way really is to search ebay. I can't find any of these in any retail store. I bought one but unfortunately it is not SDHC compatible. I'm still able to use it with a 2G SD card, just not with anything bigger.
