removing interior trim
Hey all,
I was wondering if anyone had any experience successfully removing the interior trim to their C's. I am looking to trade my wood pieces for the aluminun sport trim. I am just trying to get a feel of how difficult this job could be. I've worked with cars for a while but dont want to risk the chance of damaging the fragile interior pieces. Any suggestions or help is greatly appreciated.

Removing the center console wood and trim around the radio is not hard. Do a search on "wood console," and for "Changer installation" for instructions.
However, your sedan has wood trim on the doors. I don't believe anyone has posted on how to remove these pieces. It might look silly to replace the center wooden pieces and not the door bits.
If I ever were to buy a Coupe, I'd replace the aluminum console trim with wood, but there are no door trim pieces to worry about in the coupe, so it would be an easy job. But not so for the sedan.

Which parts are you looking to replace? If the center console, in brief, you remove the area around the shifter first, then the ashtray, then work your way up. As session says, the hardest part is getting to the screws around the air vents, etc. Otherwise, it's mostly tugging, and being not afraid to use enough force to pop them off.

funny thing is, i removed my trimtoday. the center console/ashtray/headunit are the easiest, but the damn door.. that's the area that pisses me off. after you do one door the others will be so muxh easier and quicker to do. then the trim are another story; those damn clips are feckin annoying!
