Passenger side mirror acting up - no dip down

Greetings-

I recently noticed my passenger side mirror is no longer tilting down when I put the car in reverse. I am able to adjust it just fine on my own. Any idea why?
Is it starting to go?

Thanks!

The tilt-down feature will only work if the mirror selection switch is set to the right side mirror. Is it set to the right already?

i believe the feature is thrown off if the batt. is disconnected as well...w209's have an option in the cluster to reset it...i dont see why the 208 wouldnt as well...

The best thing to do is to be sure the mirror switch is set to the right and the gear in reverse. If nothing moves u must move the mirror to the position you would like it to move to while keeping the car on reverse gear. At this point when you change the gear the mirror will adjust itself and will return to the same position it was at before reversing and it will also return to the position you just selected when ever you reverse. If that doesn't work then you might have a fuse problem.

Wow nice! I did not even know that CLK55's had that feature. The C43's don't. I wonder if it could be added.

You are absolutely correct. I had disconnected my battery and the feature would no longer work until I placed the car in reverse and set the mirror to the correct tilt down and then I placed the car in drive. As soon as I went to drive the mirror went back to normal position. When I placed the car in reverse again it finally went to the tilt down position I had set minutes earlier. So, for those that are trying to get the feature fixed this is a MUST DO.

did u go into the instrument cluster/options and turn the feature ON? i'm guessing if u go thru the motions of setting it, it's still not gonna work if the feature is actually turned off...

I have a problem after it tilts in reverse it doesn;t fully return to normal position. I sometimes have to hit one of the seat memory to get it back.

Mine ended up being the switch selector set on the left. I just changed my battery and had to re-sync the seats etc. I re-adjusted the mirrors and kept it on the left. After selecting the right button it started working right away.

Thanks for the tip!

I had that happen on my 210 and one of the hall sensors in the mirror motor was faulty. I ended up replacing the mirror motor to remedy it.
