Right rear door inside handle will not open door

I replaced the right rear door window regulator and it works fine! but now the door will not open from inside, central locking and unlocking is working but the inside door open handle does not open the door. Outside handle works fine!
I can hear the mechanism when the pul handle is moved but the door latch does not release, I tested it by pushing the door latch and pulling the door handle from inside, NOTHING, but if you pull from the outside the latch releases fine.
Any help will be appreciated!

The same thing happened with me on the same door. Soon the door will get stuck shut. The door locking mechanism goes bad and you have to change it. I bought one used from Ebay for $50. I installed it myself now door opens and closes perfectly. My door was locked shut for months till I got around to do it. It is pretty easy to do. Just follow the steps here You don't have to mess with the acuator cause the used one will have it already. Just R&R the old for the new.

turbop-
since this coincided with your repair of the window reg, i'll put $10 on the
root cause being the cable having come loose from the inside door handle.
fortunately, as you already know how easy it is to remove the door panel,
you can just take a look and verify that this is the case or not.

if the outside door handle functions normally,
the smartkey un/locks normally,
the console swich un/locks normally,
the manual door lock pull functions normally,
.....and the only problem being he inside square door handle fails to
manipulate the door latch and releasing it to open....

it sounds like the cable to me. the cable terminates to a semi-circle fixture
which should slip into the door handle. i seem to recall that there is also
a plastic fitting that pivots to prevent the cable from popping out of the
door handle easily.

if this is the case, the repair will take less than 5 mins.

great. thanks, mike. i think that "190" is the nylon latch which covers the elbow at the
end of the rod "200" {fading memory}

I've got the same issue, took off panel to fix window track, and now the inside door latch mechanism is stuck forward so the cable is too slack to open door from the inside. Pulling on the cable manually does not release latch. Outside handle and lock both work fine.

There is a perfect specimen at the local "U-pull it" to get a replacement. However before I pull that trigger, has anyone been able to fix the latch without replacing?

Ok everyone, save your $ on buying new mechanism.
Low quality video of me fixing my old one after buying an intact one at a U-pull-it and comparing the two.

This thread is probably dead, but for those who have this issue, who knows what google can find these days...
