Hi Guys,

I just got my 2010 E550 coupe about a week ago. I notice there is coffee cup icon appearing in the instrument cluster all the time. Is it normal? I called my salesman and he told me it's normal. However, when I read the manual and the manual says the coffee cup icon appears when Attention Assist is mulfunctioning and I need to contact the dealer asap. Does anyone know if it's normal? Thank you so much.

It appears when you activate Attention Assist, which means it's normal.

attention assist came active from factory on my coupe. coffee cup means its active when disabled coffee cup disappears.

it means go get coffee, preferably something good like a doppio from intelligentsia, or a macchiato from barefoot. After that, it'll go away and you'll be ready to drive!

the little cup in the bottom left means the system is on. if you start dozing, it beeps and the coffee cup becomes bigger and asks if you want a rest. Hopefully the next version of the car will make coffee for you

You probably figured it out by now how to disable/enable Attention Assist (coffee cup).
One of my friends thought it was just a coffee cup heating icon, and his AUDI came with it long time ago. After I explained the Attention Assist he was embarrassed and admitted his AUDI didn't have that.

it's funny that attention assist kept alarming last time i let my gf drive the car- i guess the car is not comfortable with xx driver... seriously i think she accelerated and decelerated even in the same lane (wo doing lane change), and that may have signalled to the ecm that driver is getting tired. she was so pixxed that she wanted to phone mbusa the following am...
