Doing my brakes soon, already have the pads, need some recommendations on rotors. Drilled? Slotted? Both? I'm looking for something not too expensive either. Thanks

Go with oem rotors. unless you are running a race car or drive really fast all the time you don't need to worry about heat dissapation or any of that other bs so often hyped by drilled and or slotted manufacturers. they look cool though. ever see drilled or slotted rotors on a nascar ride? you will get pros and cons on both.

I put brembo drilled in the front and OEM in the back. You are paying for the look more then anything but they look real nice.

also looking for something that wont rust, unless it would make more sense to paint them before installing. I plan on putting wheels on this summer and cant stand the sight of rusty brakes..

Don't get crossdrilled rotors, they're completely useless.

Slotted actually helps with some heat dissipation, moving water from between the caliper and rotor, and keeps the rotor surface slightly cleaner than a plain, flat rotor.

You can't completely prevent rotor rust, but get ones that are zinc plated to help slow down the process momentarily.

HAHAHAHH +1 ta that!! I painted mine with high temp BLACK header paint and they look good as the day of install. Remember to clean the rotor surface of any paint before use so you don't gum up the pads

If you plan on keep your car for a couple more years, definatly look into frozen treated rotors. They come in plain, dimpled and slotted.

Has anyone ever heard of or used Bolton Premiere Rotors. There slotted and dimpled for 100 bucks. They are also zinc plated front rotors. This seems pretty cheap and im wondering if i should even bother.

I HAVE HALF SLOTTED HALF DRILLED AND I DEF LOVE IT.. CHANGE YOUR BRAKE LINE TO BRAIDED ONE, BIG DIFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF.. TRUST ME ON IT. CAR STOP FAST.
ONLY THING WITH SLOTTED AND DRILLED, CAR WILL VIBRATE WHEN U HIT THE BRAKE AND ITS NORMAL WITH IT.IF U DONT WANT THAT, STICK WITH REGULAR OEM..
I NOTICED WITH MY SLOTTED AND DRILLED, I GOT LESS DUST ON MY RIMS BIG TIME

my good friend is a mechanic so he does the work for me and charge me cheap... it was easy but U NEED TO BLEED EM GOOD OTHERWISE U LL HAVE AIR BUBBLE AND CAR WON'T STOP... i remember too him like 20 minut or so for all 4 brakes. its pretty easy as long as u know what u are doing. good luck

Id be careful of BrakePerformance rotors.
Question thier blanks, as one set from another seems to vary. I would assume from how much they cost, they are lower quality OEM knock offs from who knows where. Then processed; drilled/Slotted/dipped here in the US, so they can justify the "Made in USA" claim.
Atleast we know from Brembo, Baer, Rotora, Powerslot, Frozen are track proven and start off with quality blanks. For safeties sake I would only go with proven brake systems that have a good reputation to keep.
You get what you pay for. Mercedes did a great job with our brake systems why step down for looks? Expect to pay more for looks, not less....
