98 ML320 Flashing Low range
I sent it to my dealership yesterday. Found it to be the trans module (brain) has been compromised and needs to be replaced. I was also in the last few days getting a P700 fault (trans control mod) indicator lamp request that would go off and on. I will get my truck back Friday and will let everyone know.
please any help is greatly appreciated!,
someone told me is a fuse or the Low rage case?
any suggestions?
thanks for your time and help guys!.

You will need two people to try this. Chock two wheels and set the emergency brake and follow instructions for activating the Low Range. With you under the truck, have someone push the switch and then you tap the motor a few times with a light hammer. This might have to be done a few times to get it going.

now my 98 Ml320 is giving me the (P0410 code) and having the ETS light on! and still can't get the low range to work! is just blinking 4 times and then goes off!, tried the hammer trick without any luck!
any advise on how to do it your self is greatly appreciated!
I love this Suv, but Labor for repairs is just to expensive for our Family right now,
Thanks for the Help
any suggestion to solve this problems is welcome.
Try this procedure:
Eng. running and shift into N.
Remove foot from brake.
Push the switch.
Step on brake.
Push switch again.
Shift into P and turn eng. off.
Perform process again and see if it works.
Besides code P0410 are there any other codes listed?
Is the ETS light the only one on?
Do you have a scanner and what kind?
I'm getting the spark plugs and wires replaced this week,
that might do for the misfires the suv has 87XXX miles on it and it's been always serviced on time,
the scanner was my friends is one of those new ones that connect to your ipad,
thanks for the advise will try it out today and let you guys know what happens.
For now forget about the Low Range problem. The important thing is to find the misfire problem. Misfires ruin cat. converters.
I already fear the worst,
this is what the scan says, misfires cylinder 4,5 and 6, code P0410,
secondary air pump/air injection system,
I found this video of a guy saying is my Cat, Just wanna make sure it's not something else before I try and replace my existing ones they are pretty expensive, here is the link:

I haven't check for pressure leak if someone knows of a DIY guide please point me to it,
any advise is greatly appreciated,
thanks for your time and help guys.

The reason you are getting code P0410 is because of the back pressure caused by the bad cat. Have it replaced and all your problems will be over.

Save yourself the money and use it towards the car. You do not need new wires and plugs.

thanks for the advise I was told that already but just wanted to see if someone had experience with this issue and have repaired before,

I don't wanna end up paying for Cats and end up with the same problem.
thanks for the input though
Please if anyone knows something else about the P0410
misfire in 4,5,6 and ETS light on ML320 98 please let me know
all advise is greatly appreciated
thanks for the help in advance guys.
Today I when under my ML320 and took one of the O2 sensors
I turn on the engine and it's working well now but with the sensor out?
will this mean my Cat is clogged? or is just a bad sensor?
I really don't even know if what I did was good or ok but not a real mechanic
just trying to save some money for the family and also take care of our suv,
if someone knows or had the same issue feel free to comment
thanks for helping guys.

It is plug and play, no coding necessary.

will share the solution too,
