I don't see anything wrong with being willing to pay someone to do something for you but also wanting to get the best deal. I mean, I COULD grow and/or hunt my own food but I'd rather not. However, that doesn't mean I want to overpay for groceries or avoid coupons or club cards just because I drove a Mercedes to the store. On the other hand, if you NEED the coupon in order to afford the service or you're skipping services on your Mercedes because you can't afford them at all then perhaps you bought the wrong car.

Be aware that dealers usually will only honor coupons from other dealers within a reasonable driving distance. So while I could possibly post a link to a local-to-me (Maryland) dealership's specials, that doesn't help you in Florida. That said, there was a coupon thread in the C Class (W204) forum. It's worth checking there to see if anyone posted Florida coupons lately.

Afford Oil Changes

Big deal so I asked if there was any coupons for an oil change, I change the oil on my boat because I just do, I do not and will not change the oil on my car...so I asked if there were any coupons, Autonation accepts competiors coupons and I found one for $ 89.00 .....But believe it or not I can afford this car and then some!

i don't see anything wrong with saving money....if you want to use a coupon, do it! i had the dealer cover my "A" service because of my tailgate issue. it wasn't their fault the motor broke, but they ate it. and i also go a 15% off customer appreciation rebate for the "B" service.

oil change only...done for under 100 bucks.

looking at the invoice, 8.5 quarts of oil @ 6.50 + 17 for the filter, so far = 72.50...add 20 for labour and misc. shop / disposal fee. Reasonable for MB.
(given as a special price due to the fact being a new customer. regular rate is 110+taxes)
No mess, no worrying about disposal, relax in lounge + bonus car bath. No complaints!

lol didn't mean to come out so serious. Just when I hear coupons I think of those ppl cutting coupons on weekends for stuff they don't need to buy in first place lol

I don't know about changing oil at other place for MB, but for lexus and toyota OEM filter is unique, and heard from ppl not to use filters other than OEM. Not sure what's the deal with MB.

Mr. mbenz, I would not call car bath a bonus, unless you don't really care for guys to put sand paper to your car (sponge that they use after washing cars all day). I told my dealer not to wash my car, even tho it was super dirty after snow storms and road salt. Bonus here is car looks just like when I picked it up from the dealer, none of those micro scratches.

Hi NYCGLK, I was hesitant at first about the wash, but I found out that they do not use sponge or brush of any sort. Would you believe that it was all pressure wash and they sprayed down with their own *stuff* to get the wheels extra shiny and it was not touched by humans?
Meaning = no towels to dry, no physical contact with car.

That's good. I told my dealer I do hand wash only, he was like we have only hand wash. Me: no thanks. I'm sure many dealers do good job, since they service 100+k cars. I just read on other forums that ppl don't trust dealers with washes.

Yawn...

Now, just make sure they use a fleece filter instead of a paper filter when they do the oil change. And make sure they use Synthetic oil, not dino oil.

Now, the fleece filter is about 14 bucks from a Dealer. I'd love to hook you up with a coupon for it, but... I don't do coupons. It costs me 68 dollars to change the oil in my car (11Qts of Mobil 1 0W-40 and fleece filter), and about 15 minutes of my time. I'm not so important that I cant spend 15 minutes for an oil change and do it myself. It will likely take the oil change place 15 minutes to do it anyways.

I had oil/filter changed at 1K miles and then again at 3-4K miles and paid $65 for the first change and the dealer had a $100 off any service when I took it in for the second change and that paid for the whole change, that was on my CLS63 AMG. Only have 600 miles on the GLK so too early to see how it will workout. Just check all your local dealers.

I trust mine because they have an automated touchless system just like you'd find at a car wash or gas station. I'm kind of amazed that any dealership takes the time to hand wash cars. I don't even take the time to hand wash my own car.
