Horizontal headlight Adjustment?

Hey Guys,

Does anyone know how to adjust the headlights horizontally? I figured out that the phillips head screw is the vertical. I installed aftermarket HIDs and need to recalibrate.

I see a hex screw shrouded under a blue plastic tab -- is that it?

Supposedly yes, the hex is for horizontal alignment... however in adjusting my OEM headlights, I've found that both the hex and philips head screws control vertical alignment mostly, and the hex adjusts the horizontal alignment by a TINY bit (like I had to turn it around 35 revolutions in order to move my headlight left 1.5 inches when aimed at a wall 30 ft away). Honestly, I don't know why MB didn't make the hex for strictly horizontal alignment, and philips strictly for vertical alignment... it would make adjusting headlights A LOT easier...

Thanks, I tweaked both to get the right fit. Here's what I found:

Philips is vertical.
Hex is horzontal. To get to the Hex screw, you have to lift up on the front end of a purple/blue tab, and simultaneously pull from the back. Use a flathead screwdriver to accomplish this.

The Hex screw did work perfectly for me, but it took at least 3 full turns to see any change whatsoever. You'll end up turning it a good 15-20 times to get a proper adjustment.

I always though that US headlight, only vertical can be adjusted and not side to side. I was adjusting my headlight last night with a hex key and it only moves up and down.

"Excuse me? Excuse me, senor? May I speak to you please? I asked for a mai tai, and they brought me a pina colada, and I said no salt, NO salt for the margarita, but it had salt on it, big grains of salt, floating in the glass... "

I have confirm that the hex for my 09 is for vertical adjustment (i was adjusting it again last night). Same thing goes for my 09 C which adjusting horizontal is not a piossibility because it is blocked off.

Can you advise on how you did this? I just need to adjust my bi-xenons up slightly. they are aimed too low for my tastes.
