Check engine light just came on, p2004 b11/4!

Howdy, I've got an 05 c230k thats been running without any issues until lately. The check engine light came on and I pulled the code p2004 b11/4 which I think is an engine temperature sensor. Can anyone help me out on this one? I'm not sure which sensor it is or how to verify if it is working or not! Temps seem stable, the car hasn't overheated yet so I've been driving it (very cold around here though). Any help would be appreciated!

p2004 b11/4 or p2005 b11/4?

I know p2005 b11/4 is coolant temp sensor. I haven't heard of a p2004 b11/4, maybe other members can chime in.

Hi, it is definitely p2004 b11/4, he said it was a coolant temp sensor and that there were four... Hopefully someone knows exactly which one it is, I've yet to work on this engine so I need a bit of guidance to get started

If it's b11/4 then the sensor is this. Very easy fix

You sir are a lifesaver (not the candy)! I watched when he pulled the code and it definitely said p2004 b11/4. Do you know what the sensor is called so I can order one? Is it something that can be purchased at kragen or do I have to go through a dealer?

Thanks again!

Name: "Coolant temperature sensor" or "Temperature Sensor For Water Temperature"
Part Number: 000-905-07-00
Price: 10 dollars not including shipping

I doubt Kragen will have it. Try your dealer, I believe it should be no more than 15 dollars.

Here it is online (Well trusted part store)

Well per my obd2 this is what came up because I go the same code on my CEL P2004: "intake manifold runner control stuck open bank 1" and so this is what I found…….

CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
The intake manifold runner valve system is mounted on the intake manifold and consists of the intake manifold runner valve (IMRV), the IMRV motor and the IMRV position sensor. The IMRV motor opens and closes the IMRV using multiple gears. The valve position sensor detects the opening
angle of the IMRV.

The IMRV has a groove on its upper portion. When the IMRV is closed, air flows through a groove into the cylinder from the intake manifold, so that a dynamic air flow or ”tumble” air flow is generated in the cylinder. The tumble air flow drastically reduces fuel deposits inside the intake air port and the combustion wall surface inside the cylinder. This improves the combustion efficiency by boosting the air−fuel mixture and air flow turbulence.
