I use the Yokohama At/S in a stock size on the 18" stock G500 wheels. Nice on highway, great for sensible off road use unlike the stock tires. The lady AMG liked them so much she got them for her RAV4 so she can go to horsey stuff and dog shows without fear of getting stuck in muddy fields and the like. On her car it is almost a performance tire on the highway.
You can rotate these tires in an x pattern for better wear.
If it snows so bad you can't use them stay home.
A 55 on larger rims is more apt to give you a stiffer ride and possible rim damage with highway speed potholes with a possible handling advantage uless your unsung weight is increased. If it is you may have increased break wear.
Just rode the Ma Pike from NY border to Worcster exit. Total mess. Dodging potholes the entire way. They charge a toll for this abomination?
