2005 Mercedes Benz C240 How many quarts of 0-40w......
2005 Mercedes Benz C240 How many quarts of 0-40w does the engine hold? The reason why I ask is because there is no oil dipstick and I can't find how many quarts the engine holds. I will be changing the filter as well. Thanks

V6 2003-2005 7.9 quarts, but for the rest of the world it is 7.5 L
V6 2006-2007 8.5 quarts or 8L
M271 5.8 quarts or 5.5L
M111 7.4 quarts or 7 L

I recently had the Stealer****s do an oil change on my C240, figured they had the mental capacity to at least do an oil change correctly, but I was wrong.
Apparently Mobil 1 5W40 oil (Q-1-09-0144) is approved for this engine type, so that's fine.
The point is, I don't know why I waited this long, but two weeks after the oil change, I decided to fireup dynomode on the computer to see an accurate measure of oil, and it read 6.7 quarts on a completely cold engine. So I thought to myself...this can't be right and poured in an additional quart of Mobil 0W-40. Now it's at somewhere between 7.5 and 7.7 quarts, which is ideal for this engine.
I guess this can serve as a warning for the rest of the newbs out there...always check your measurements...
