I was at dealership checking on my wife's C250 coupe order on netstar and this was sitting on the floor...

It is nice...but it kind of lacks the drama of the CLS63. I didn't realize how different the interiors are in each car. The CLS63 might have the best interior of any car I have been in.

Really? The cls and E have 90% same interior. Entire dash is very much the same. The cls has better seats with nice stitching but that's about it...

The front end is really aggressive and very appealing view. The rear end is my least favorite view of the car. They actually had a CLS63 Biturbo up on their roof parking lot...I should have taken a pic of it. It was nice and at first I thought I was looking at a CL....

To be honest with you...after seeing the Mercedes UK site and the E63 Estate...I'd order one.

the thing I don't like are those dial controls for temp inside the car?
on the cls.....a lot of cars have those too, not found in the E's...
they bother me for some reason

Thanks Jon for posting up both!

These interiors are not 90% the same. IMHO the CLS's flows better. I don't like how the E63's has the Nav screen kind of boxed in towards the driver. The CLS's flows more gracefully across the dash board. Also, the E63's center stack seems to be more "straight-up and down" perpendicular to to the center console. The CLS's center console seems to slope up into the center stack. The CLS also seems to use more aluminum switches and has some round dials down near the center console which the E63 doesn't have. These may be small nuances...but to me...in my personal opinion are the differences between a nice interior and an exceptional one. When I sat in the CLS63..I was blown away by the layout and feel.

Sticker Price

What was the sticker price on the car? Was there a big dealer markup?

I am not a fan of the carbon fiber rear spoiler. I think the matching silver one looks better.

It was so new they didn't have any sticker on it...The CLS63 they had on the roof the sales guy was telling me around 108K...no clue if he was right though.

Yup, that TT M5 motor is the most heinous looking piece of machinery I have ever feasted my eyes on. They should have tried to cover up so more of that plastic turbo plumbing. The Benz motor is a piece of art and in DP trim with 550/590 will leave the M5 looking at its tail lights all day long.

I was a little shocked too when I first went to adjust the temp in my new CLS since I was expecting digital adjustments like my W212 E63.

I actually pleasantly happy with my dials. I can go to the temp I want so quickly instead of holding down the button to get to the max temp one way or the other.

Jon, I too like my CLS interior better than my W212 E63 (albeit its a 2010 model). It looks like this car in your pics has the PP too--- nice car!

So any opinion on the new 10 spoke wheels vs the forged twin spoke ones?

If I don't have to deal with snow in the winter, my choice would have been E63 instead of E550 that I now drive. CLS just don't have enough headroom and space in comparison with an E-Class.

I personally do not care for them. I think they look kinda plain.

I think I know what you mean, the only other car I tested was a cls 550......did feel kind of cramped....

really? I have seen so many of our cars with the traditional 5 spokes, and I do like them, have some on my 550, just trying another look, and plus, the concaves are really nice IMO.....

nah, LOL, got 19's.....
20 without being lowered would not look as smooth (I've been convinced)and I don't want to get into the lowering business......
and plus 19's are a factory option anyway you know?
I can always change 'em up if they get stale.....

i agree with 19s, and not lowering, esp when amg spends all that time putting the proper suspension into the set up
