Transmission Problem PLS Help
HI everyone, im new to the forum and first time mercedes owner. I'm from Cape Town. I bought a 1986 500SEL about a year ago. The car was driving fine, last week i took it to be washed as i left i could'nt get any gears
. Had to get a tow truck to get it home. I changed the filter in the gearbox but still no gears. Can anyone give me advice?

Probably a new transmission,sounds like what happened to my son's 98 E430 last winter.The 'sun gears' /planetary gear set went out,it was cheaper to buy a used trans from a junkyard than to have a rebuild.$2000 /us.
