parking break engages automatically
Ive experienced a few instances where i have stopped, placed the car in park without manually engaging the brake,and restarted to find the parking break warning lights on. A simple tug on the parking release remedies the problem. Has anyone else experienced this?

You do not say whether you exited the car. I have found that the smallest brush of the parking brake (for me) when entering the car will require a release. I mean the smallest...I can't imagine it moves much at all.

When I first got my E I experienced this. Then I realized I was inadvertently hitting the parking brake with my left foot when I entered. Once I realized I was causing it, I adjusted how I entered the car. The parking brake is not engaging automatically, as this is actually impossible being a manual mechanical device. You are inadvertently hitting it. It has not happened in over a year to me. I wish the E had an electric parking brake.

It is perfectly and literally impossible for the parking brake to engage itself. It is not electronic and is fully manual (unfortunately). Either you or a ghost is inadvertently (or "advertently") engaging it.

The exact same thing happens to me about once a month. I think it has more to do with body flex then anything. It's annoying and will be addressed during service "A"...which should be soon.

Body Flex? OMG. This is one of the stiffest body structures money can buy. How would body flex engage the manual parking brake exactly?
