I wouldn't trust that a dipstick designed for use in another engine is calibrated correctly for the M113K engine. The only way I would trust it is to take measurements using my factory tool, set the oil fill level to perfect specification, and then check the reading on the ML430 dipstick. You could then mark that dipstick for the exact fill level required for the M113K engine.
Is the one you ordered designed to be left in the engine?

It does not seem to go all the way into the dip stick tube and appears to bottom out.
Is this typical? If so, how do you know it is in far enough? I have about 7 inches poked out of the top.
G
Just jam it in there until it bottoms then take the reading....

This whole thread is a bit uncertain.
has anyone does this? It looks like just the stick is for sale on Amazon, do you have to buy the tube also?
Anyone have confirmation? Pics? Comparisons to OEM tool?
Searching a bit more shows that the bright red cap in the middle top of the motor is the oil dipstick tube. It just needs a dipstick?
