Any interest in billet forged rods?

As most of you know i'm doing a complete rebuild and going for a lot more power. I can get Oliver Billet Rods for an extremely good price but need to order 3 set to get a good price and 6 sets would put us at an even better price. Any interest?

Why would you swap rods? Unless you are looking to get 1000+whp I really don't see the oem ones being a problem.

Because that's exactly what im going for OEM one's are strong but like everything else they have their limits. Ahmad broke a factory rod although the s/c 55k rods are a little better (no pin oiling hole in rod)

Between $1500-$1800 depending on how many are ordered.

Ooohhh....my goodness...lol. Can I assume you are going turbo or just a big shot of nitrous?

Sleeved block, at least 5.7L, found some extra in the heads and going with bigger valves now that the bore will be a little bigger, custom cams, possibly a tiny bump in compression, whipple in the future plus a healthy shot of spray for when i really want to go fast

Did you have any other work done to the block other than sleeving it, like welding up the deck?

The sleeves will close the top of the deck in adding strenth to the block and keeping the cylinders from deflecting.

What do you plan on doing to hook that kind of power? You're gonna end up ice skating down the track unless you can stuff a bigger tire and some suspension work under that car. Any way you can get the front shocks to go soft and adjust the rears independently maybe? 4000+lbs on a small tire and 1000rwhp is gonna be a handful down the entire track. Can't wait to watch and cheer you on though!

I've had some experience racing drag radial class and back then that was on BFgoodrich drag radials and we were going low 8's@165 so I've had some practice getting down the track. The weight will help in this case. I wanted to put coil overs on but at the same time I like a challenge so I'll stick with true stock suspension until its holding me back. My old best was a 6.59 in the 1/8 so if it hooks up with an extra 150-200hp I should be in the low 6's in the 1/8 and break the 9's easily. Next problems will be trans shifting correctly and a shift to 4th in the 1/4 unless I rev it to 7600rpm which is what I believe the plan is now. Good rods and found A LOT of weight reduction in valve train.

Which sleeves did you go with? I'd like to see how they close the deck.

Thank you, those look very cool! Would you mind saying or PM'ing me the price for the sleeves and what you paid to have them installed. Thanks again.

I've been there before, more times than I's like to remember. I excited to see how it turns out. Now go crack the whip!

Can you elaborate more on this one please?

There's a good amount of weight that can be reduced in the valve train. The lighter the valve train is the better it does with higher RPM and less things to worry about in the valve train going wrong at higher RPM. Should be able to lighten the rotating assembly some also but not going to worry about that much honestly.
