Retail Value Down On Clk ?
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=31853
a) ebaymotors.com tends to be a poor reflection (my opinion) of car pricing, because for people to sell their car on ebay in the first place tends to allude to a possible motive for selling in such a manner (e.g. a foresight of problems, high mileage, awkward selling location (in this case Texas), unusual time of year, or perhaps impatience)
b) I concur with the high mileage/ warranty post
c) I tend not to worry about the price of my car, because i know that traditionally mercedes hold their value well (esp. clk's, as they are sought after), and it diverts my attention from that which is at hand... a car i enjoy driving and toying with :-)
with a high mileage car on such a late model high line, values will go down... but added with a recent major overhaul/makeover deemed the W209, value on our cars won't hold as well as it did in the years prior....
Taking everything into consideration, I thought the buy it now was even a damn good price. When I was in the CLK market about a year ago the prices on a 2002 from my experience were much higher than $30,888. They were in the high 30's if not the 40's.
Even though the value has dropped alot in this last year I agree with everyone when they say it's still a great car and I'm sure there will always be a market for them since they are one of the sweetest Mercedes ever made.
Right now my car has 13k for an 02' and I dont even want to look at how much it retails for.
I might as well keep for the amount of money I would get for it now. Lou
