E430 Exhaust ( Y pipe mode)
Hi everyone!
I've several questions about my car's (W210 E430 Sedan) exhaust and if you can, please help me.
Now guys I' ve this AMG muffler:
HWA 210 490 06 15.
As you can see the muffler is with one intel pipe. I want to install this item on my E430. The stock exhaust on my car has system like this 1 on 1:
I know that to install this muffler i must make one pipe from cat. converters. That's why i want to do Y pipe mode after catalictic converters. In the picture I paint it in red (what i'm going to do). Also i am going to remove resonator.
So, now i wonder do my work give me some result? For more agressive V8 sound? and i want to know what is a diameter of pipe i must to use (for Y pipe and for main pipe, which will be connected to Muffler)?
Thank's to everyone.

Now, Gyus this is my system with Y pipe.
As i noticed, mid cats are already out, and they are replaced with some netting material To mute soud. Now i'm going to cut out this netting, but i want to know, which will be better way for sound?
replace this cats, with straight pipes? or cut out only netting and leave it empty?
also, if i will replace it with straight pipes, 50 mm (2 inch) pipes will good choice? or it'll be better 60mm (2.5 inch)?
for good sound (not screaming like mad) i must delete resonator anyway?

I wouldn't recommend going straight pipes unless you want to anger your neighbors. You want a nice rumble/roar when you get on the gas having a resonator delete will accomplish this goal plus having a AMG exhaust.
Personally I would leave the cats but that's just me.
Coming along great

I understand what you said, and I agree with you... but here is a problem. The previous owner of my E430 has already cut out catalyctic material from tubes, and replace it with some netting materials... If the car had OEM catalyctic converters, I'll never delete it, but my car now has some aftermarket modifications, which are imitation of catalyctic converter, they only make car quiter... and have no catalyctic function that's why my friend i want to delete them.

Hmm well it's really up to you but just know that it will pretty loud. I so it really depends what melody your looking for. Hot Rod sound like or subtle yet let's others know who's in charge sound. I like option B.
But my fiend it's your car and it's what you like....
I have resonates delete xpipe and obviously AMG exhaust and it's perfect. Yours will be pretty similar.

Now guys... I have done wat i wanted. I've delete secondary cats and delete resonator. The sound is perfect... deep and solid, not screaming like some ''sport cars''... thank's to everyone who advised me...
I've used 50 mm stainless steel pipes in place of cats, and 60mm ss tube in place of resonator... also Y pipe is 60 mm.
Here are pictures:
Videos coming soon...

This mod is not about sound Mate, is about performance and some hp+. Replace your stright pipes with one magnaflow x pipe 20" lenght in the second cats place. (if you want some extra power for your 430 )

I know youre a noobie but its considered bad forum etiquette to thread jack (steal someone elses thread) with posts of your own stuff. If you want to post pics of your exhaust setup, start a new thread, unless of course the thread is something along the lines of "post your exhaust setup."
