New DVD Navigation System in my CLK
Eclipse AVN2454
- CD/DVD/MP3/DVD Nav/etc...
Some basic pics of the Double-DIN setup... its got a few of my dirty fingerprints on there & the trim piece is only a temporary one until I can get one custom made...
The system is very fast & quite accurate... 5.5 seconds to map from LA to NY... 2-3sec to reroute
8V Preamp output
50Watt built in amp
6.5" Touch screen
Its a much more sophisticated system over the OE COMAND system

Looks great Danny! I LOVE how it sits right in the double din slot - once you get the trim piece made it will be absolutely perfect. As much as I love OEM fit and finish, I have to say
then, I'll make a cutout for my ipod/ipod mini... & the V1 display unt...
absolutely beautiful
now I want to sell my navi and get that how is the picture on that thing...best audio/navi system Ive seen on the CLK...mad props dude
I've never quite been the fan of flip monitors... so the Double-DIN layout here is perfect for me... and the Nav DVD slot is built in.. nothing else need to buy...

Nice Danny! Did you lose use of the steering wheel controls?
I hear there is a module that Kenwood made that still allows u to use the steering wheel contols with their units...
Would this setup work with the OE CD changer?
Nice job, once again.

It looks very good. Just the fact that it's a double-DIN and not a flip out makes it look more OEM. Also, I like that it is touch screen so there is less need for buttons, which allows it to have a bigger screen.

at the least, the Eclipse head unit has a built in MP3 decoder, so, 1 MP3 cd (~135 songs) is about equivilant to 6-7 regular CDs.... so, no real need for a changer...
plus, once I plug in the ipod, a changer would definitely not be necessary...
