Crashing/Thunking Noise

On one of the other posts someone mentions in passing that they had some unexpected noises from the car, and that they seemed to be unresolved.
My car has the regular suspension (not the Track option). Whenever I go over a sharp crack in the road, or a deep rut, there is an incredibly loud/disturbing cracking sound that seems to come from various areas of the car ie. does it on both left and right side, front and back. It is so loud and menacing that the first time I thought the glass roof had cracked or detached.
I gather from the other thread that the fix of torqueing the front cross member has not resolved the problem for the other car.
Have any others experienced this phenomenon? If so are your cars the regular or the track suspension?
Has anyone had a fix done at their dealer that permanently fixes the problem, or are you and they still "hunting" for a permanent solution?
Many Thanks.

Just the front strut which has a campaign out for it but it doesn't resolve the issue as it still persists in many of our cars including mine after the campaign is performed.

In other words no solution as of yet that eliminates the issue

I had the same issue. The dealership replaced my exhaust in order to fix the issue. All good now.

Can you elaborate on what the exhaust had do do with it? Any description on the paperwork you got back? Thanks!

I have the same issue and it is going up and down driveways at an angle as well as certain types of bumps on the road. I would love to have this remedied.

Paperwork says Performed L162. 30-P-061211 for the thunk sound. Now I see the exhuast/muffler was replaced due to a rattle in the rear quarter panel. I was told over the phone that the exhuast/muffler also had someting to do with the thunking sound.l

I had/still have the same issue

Before it would happen every day, overtime I ran over a pothole or take a share turn. Technician torqued the front strut and it helped a lot.

Now, the problem still exists but at a minimum. it would happen once a week and the problem's "noise level" is at the minimum

I'm thinking that this is the result of a failure of the electo active mounts.

Well, I had the front strut campaign done on my car and it seems to have solved the main explosive crashing noise. (One week crash-free!).That is the good news.
However, now it has exposed the lousy spring and shock rates for the front of the car, as when I go over medium size bumps, the compression often causes the suspension to bottom against the bump stops. Does it in all 3 shock settings. My car has the base suspension - not the track option.

I'm experiencing the same occasional thunking noise when going over curbs. Its super intermittent and sounds like its coming from the front right suspension. Is this strut service definitely the solution? Anyone else have any thoughts on it? Am i potentially damaging the car by driving without having it fixed?

It could well be movement in the exhaust which is sounding like suspension noise.
