AMG GTS just ordered - CCB advice appreciated

Hi,

I have just put down a deposit for an AMG GTS for delivery first week of January 2016.

I am currently deciding on specs and have to finalise them by the 22nd August.

One option I am not sure on are the Carbon Ceramic Brakes. I would prefer to have them but previous cars I have tried with carbon brakes have often been rather grabby and squeaky. (The GTS I test drove had the standard steel brakes.)

Any advice on this would be appreciated as I will be using this as a daily driver.

Attached some configurator images of my current proposed spec.

Daily driver, save the cash, the steel brakes are excellent. And also, forget the dynamic mounting, you'll do yourself a favor, and you won't lose a lot on track.

Is this because your impression of the dynamic package is harsh on the road for a daily driver? I say this because I've only driven an edition one and it was Too stiff IMO.

Exactly, particularly if you have the performance seats, which I have on my car. As a lot of person say, if you want to go quicker, learn to drive it ;-) I really thing the standard package is already awesome, but I couldn't pass the performance seats, for feel and look...

If you're planning on purchasing a high performance wheelset to go with your new ride be sure to order them soon so they can arrive around the same time that you take delivery of the car

Feel free to PM us if you need any help or further information.

The steel brakes im sure will be just fine, however if you are going to track id advise CCBs. Every car I drive has CCBs, its personal preference though, I like the way the feel and they are more durable when you really put them to the test.

We offer a CCB conversion kit that utilizes the stock calipers for iron brakes.
So if your GTS comes with iron brakes but later you decide you want to try CCB you can order just the rotors from RacingBrake without having to purchase a complete new system.

Hi,

The dealership managed to bring my delivery slot forward from the original January date and I have just taken delivery.

Have attached a few photos. Very happy with the car and the build quality of the interior is amazing, as is the sound!

So you stuck with the CCBs... Whatcha think of them?
Squeaky, grabby, high initial effort, need warm up, bad in rain, dusty??

The brakes are actually very smooth and not grabby at all. No squeaking at low or high speeds and don't seem to need to be warmed up to work effectively.

No brake dust either which makes keeping the alloys cleaned easier. Have only been driving it for 5 days though so will see how they develop.
