Mercedes-Benz dealer employee and enthusiast here. My first post here. I just placed an order for a GTR a couple days ago.

Designo Diamond White Metallic
Carbon Cermaic Brakes
Burmester High-End Sound System
Distronic Plus
Lane Tracking Package
Convenience Package

Did anyone else placed an order on one too? What options did you get/not get? And for those who have a GTS, is there anything that you guys think I should add or remove?

 

Nice move man. That will be one classy brute.

IMO get rid of the burmester high end. Waste of 5600.

Hopefully you will see your car in may.

 

Thanks! I actually ordered it initially without the high end sound system but I saw a few posts complaining about the regular burmester not being good enough and that it was "front loaded," that's when I went back and added it.

Tough decision to make... but the exhaust note will be so loud, I'm sure I won't be able to hear the music anyways?

Wow, you can pick a color besides terribly terrible green? That's awesome and almost makes me wish I'd waited.

 

I definitely don't won't matte green. However, I still can't decide if I want designo diamond white, magnetite black or black.

 

I'd get rid of the lane tracking package. If you use the steering wheel to keep the car between the lines, the tracking package becomes unneccessary.

My personal view is that the diamond white is not suited to an aggressive car, even though I do like it.

 

The lane tracking package comes with warnings if a car is in your blind spot. I personally believe it is a nice safety feature whereas the Distronic plus is really expensive for what it provides. Can it save you from rear ending someone? it claims it will but there is no replacement for paying attention on the road. It is a fairly expensive option and interferes with radar detectors like the 9500ci.
I tend to agree that white is not the best color for that color.

 

I definitely need lane track assist because of the blind spot monitor.

Do you guys have a gts? If so what color?

That white GTR looks awesome. If white is your thing, don't let us dissuade you.
I just received my magno grey GT and could not be happier but it looks like you do not want matte. My other choices were selenite grey or blue.

Your car looks amazing! The matte paints really scare me. But a matte gray plus yellow stripes would make it look a lot like the gt3!

I wish there was polar white. I can't say I like designo diamond white as much as polar white but doesn't seem like I have a choice.

 

The safety options are not cheap, but the insurance on my GTS is cheaper than my five-year old C63 despite being a much more valuable car. My guess is that all the safety options are saving quite a bit on insurance.

 

With that wide body and magnesium roof, silver with those black rims would look bad *** as well.

 

Oh, and I love white, but agree that polar white would be a better option. I think I would go gloss black, black seats with red stitching and seat belts if I were ordering a GTr.

 

I am confused, how did you place an order I didn't even know the DOG has been released yet....they must really hate me at AMG now because of all my badmouthing the GT-S because they used to email me the official DOG on most new vehicles a couple days before it was released to the public.....

 

The DOG has been released a week or two ago.

 

Can you please share the DOG with us, I just looked and I didn't even see it on the Private Lounge and they usually post it there a day before it goes public, I must have missed it.

Save your money on the sound system. The exhaust will more than make up for it.
