Difference between GT and GTS?
Other than the extra 50 or so HP, and the quoted 0.02 sec difference in 0-60 times, is there any here on this forum who have driven both the GT and GTS and if so, is there a big difference between the 2?
Any comments appreciated.

There are numerous differences, often one can narrow the gap between them by ordering various packages to bring the GT closer to the GTS. I have not driven both. I have a GTS. This is the official dealer ordering guide (DOG) from Mercedes Benz. A close examination will reveal the differences:

OK so the short of it is the GT has a mechanical differential and cannot be ordered with an active dynamic suspension and no race start, other than that you can option out the GT exactly like the GTS.
IMO The GT rides a little better because I believe it has different multi Multimatic shocks than the GTS. But they might have made them the same in 2017.

I think the GTS gets the Magnetorheological shocks which are the best shocks out there on car. On my Ferrari's of past and my Lambo I can clearly tell the difference in the compression and rebound along with the comfort of the way they work with the chassis and speeds. My GTS is a 16 and I don't know if the 17's kept them.

I bought it. Look at the other forums on sales.

Yep. Absolutely the best dampers available; they alone are worth the price bump for the 'S' model.

Go to the AMG website; compare the suspension descriptions for the 2017 standard GT and the S. GT specs make no mention of electronically adjustable suspension modes, the S does, in detail. Ergo, no magnetorheological dampers on the standard GT. I also have somewhere a shop manual e-file that gives different part nos. but I can't seem to find it [early-onset Alzheimer's.....tee-hee]

Ok, so I'm a bit confused and would like clarification as I am considering purchasing one of these.
Does the 2016 GTS have the upgraded suspension or is it just on the 2017?

The dynamic option is available as extra on GTS and has electro engine and transmission mounts tha IMO make ride harsh. This is not available on GT.

I love to see a review for the 460hp GT, and wanna know real performance difference... And if "chip" the GT can bring the performance up to GTS (or a chipped GTS a) level... The eDiff and Magn ride suspension are not that deal breaker..

Or remember the Benzes that had the Performance Packages with the hp and tq bumps vs the non PP cars; the tunes adjusted those differences as well. A tuned GT will be faster than a non tuned GTS.

I would think it would... much like a tuned 991 Turbo Non S vs a tuned 991 Turbo S; they are practically identical in performance give or take conditional changes.

Thx you!
Well, so if going to tune the car anyway, Then make more sense to go with the GT than GTS even GTC .... With some options added to the GT, still $12 to 15k diff ... And 3000mile is max to put in a year.
