Can a 28 kw 3phase slip ring motor start with any on off switch or it must be a stager starter?
Depends on what kind of load you have on it. I didnt know rotary joints had a motor, but if its a big electric coaxial rotary joint motor it needs a stager to let it change from star to delta configuration, most things that spin have slip rings, you need to be more specific about yur question, normally fiber optical rotary joints are associated with cranes and stuff that spin, and are found in the dead center of a spinning object along with a swivel, or slip rings that allow it to rotate while no cables are attached.
