Antenna motor will not pull down for repair.
1994 E320
I have my antenna ready to pull down into the trunk so I can replace the gears but it will not pull down. It seems like there is a clip or something holding it. I have a schematic from Alldatadiy and it does not show any clips or anything. It just shows (with arrows, not explaining anything) pushing it down from the top. Also, should that nut be removed on the mast before it will go?
Thanks,
Chupacabra

Will wiggle, but not slide down.
It wiggles but acts like it has a clip or something that is holding up up. Is it just the rubber washers on the the thing that is holding it in? I have really put a lot of downward pull on it. Could I put some dry lube on it from the top and try to wiggle it out? I really don't want to pry it out unless I am sure there is nothing else holding it. I took the top nut off, by the way.
Thanks,

It is just the rubber bushing hold the top, it hardens up and hangs on too tight; the nut does not have to be removed. Give it a shot of WD-40 and it will pull out.

Many thanks! I went and screwed the nut back On, gave it a shot of WD40, and it pulled right out!! So I am good to go now. I have the exact same schematic, but from Alldatadiy.com. But they left out the little trick about the wd40. Anyway, thanks again.
