ML Diesel 2008
What to expect on a B200 Turbo 2007 Manual?
Hello,
I already own a Volvo and a benz (ML Diesel 2008). So i'm kind of into european cars. I would like to buy a car for my son, wich he will mostly use for city driving (getting to university). I found a B200 Turbo Manual 2007, with the panoramic/sunroof (I don't know how to call this thing, it's kinda weird ) The car has 76 000 Km. It's for sale at a small dealer. When I did the test drive, AC was not working. Dealer said he repairs it if I buy the car.
The car is listed at 9000$. My question is: Should this be a car that is mostly maintenance free (appart from oil changes and normal maintenance) ? Or should I expect many repairs? What do you think about the price?
Thanks again,

I own a 2007 B200 Turbo. I bought it at 50,000 KM and I now have over 120,000 Km. It has been very reliable. The only non maintenance part replaced has been the heater resistor (it controls the fan speeds). It cost $50 from the dealer and took me 10 minutes to replace. Maintenance is not much more than changing the oil and filter every 16000 km and a few other things every second year. It is easy on tires, brakes and is fuel efficient. Car has terrific performance. It absolutely roars up the hills.

W203 slightly modified
At this point in time
- Air conditioning doesnt work
- Check sunroof seals. If the seals squeak it means that they roof never got used and will probably need to be dismantled and lubricated or the cable will break
- Due for transmission oil change
- Check for brake oil change in history
- Shock absorbers tend to go soft after 5 years
- May need a fresh battery ... check for acid leaks
Personally, I wouldnt touch a car that isnt 100% freshly lubricated and running. All the hidden costs would add up to $3000.
