My Palladium Silver C350 Coupe
Hi All,
This forum has been of great interest to me for a long time so I thought I'd finally make a contribution.
I am the proud owner of a Palladium Silver with Sahara Beige C350 Coupe. It has just about every option except the carbon fibre interior trim.
Here in Australia the lip spoiler isn't a factory option so the first thing I did as far as "modding" the car was order one online. It came painted. The colour match is fantastic and it was a very easy DIY install.
I have further plans already to make changes to this car, but I'll cover this in a subsequent posts.
Blickling.

Thoughts on the C350 Coupe
I thought I'd just mention a bunch of things I have to say about the car:
First off - it definitely has a different feel to the equivalent sedans in the Benz C Class line up. I've driven every C Class variant (except the Black Series - hopefully one day) and how you sit and how it feels to drive the coupe over the sedan is worth every cent of the $2000 premium or so in Australia. It's far more fun to drive and worth losing a bit of practicality.
The motor - I love this new engine! It revs higher than the previous 350 motors (200kw/350nm), sounds better and the extra power is definitely noticable. The 350 when you rev it out is more more exciting than the 250 and the progressive power and torque means the car won't break traction easily. Even though it's V6 rather than an inline or a flat 6 it has a nice note. Having driven boxters/caymans and speaking to people who have driven 911s - it doesn't sound that different when you rev it out. It could however do with some more noise and I intend to do something about this.
Handling - very good for a stock car. It doesn't seem much different from an equivalent BMW - maybe slightly less handling focused but not by much - and yet has a better ride quality. And arguably better looking. It's just unfortunate the Benz loses out 30nm to the BMW 335i. Again however, you can do something about this to close the gap.

I would agree with most you said but on this forum C250 owners are much larger group, I wish we have separate forum....

No big deal. At least there is a C Coupe owners section now! Nothing wrong with a bit of diversity. But in OZ there are only a handful of 350s. There are heaps of 250s, mostly petrol I'd say but a serious diesel presence too.

The mods
The part people always like hearing about...
Well in addition to my nice little lip spoiler, after much debating whether to leave the car as is or make some slight changes - I figured hey, I'll have the car a while so why not make it more like the car I want it to be.
I did lots of searching and as far as dedicated exhausts for the Coupe, their aren't many. I think there is an Eisenmann exhaust which suits. But after seeing the Stance Lab Build I decided to go Meisterschaft. I've ordered the HP Touring (single not quad exhaust) setup as I'd like the car to look stock and sound just a bit more exciting - more like SLK/SL 350 noise I'm hoping.
Jim from VividRacing has been very helpful. I do have to wait for a fresh one to be built though as they are out of stock so I could be waiting up to two months.

Mercedes Benz C250 CDI coupe
Apologies Blickling, youll get alot of narrow minded people on here. On another note, very nice car I must say, I myself nearly got the palladium instead of the white.
Where abouts are you in Australia? We have a small contingency of C coupe owners in Melbourne already, that we propose to meet up one day.

I don't see why there is this 250/350 rivalry. Both cars are sensational. If you have to hate, hate on a different brand. The 250 does have the advantage of being lighter with a smaller engine. The 250 Sport is even more fantastic and handles really well. The reason I went 350 was because I wanted N/A and like the sound.

It's a small 'weird' group so just ignore them
An Aust. meet would be awesome we'll hopefully eventually get something like the above happening, I too like Blinks am a Melbourne resident.

Congrats on your C350 purchase. I have a C350 as well. After a 600 mile trip from Las Vegas to Los Angeles and back, I managed to get 28.8 mpg at an average speed of 75 mph. I also like the eco start/stop system, as it will save gas when sitting at traffic lights or at other stops.
Kleemann has an available ECU tune and is working on headers for the M276 motor. I am planning on that as soon as it becomes available.
Enjoy your car on longer trips...the interior has been very comfortable for me for hours of enjoyment.

190 Benz - I love the colour too. Everytime I see it I'm happy I went for it. Other choice would have been Diamond White with a black or Red interior. Can't wait for the exhaust to arrive.
AV1, Badboy8 - Hi locals! good to see some Aussie contribution
Capt Paul - thanks for that I saw the Kleemann tune but I have other plans. I'll address this in another post. I'd really like to know how you find the Kleemann tune though, it seems pretty good!

2013 C350 Coupe
Great choice and enjoy your car. I bought a 2013 C350 coupe also. Chose the Palladium silver with the AMG sport package. Has a very interesting interior and wheels. The red seat belts are a hoot. You're right, I have not seen a lot of C350 coupe models around.

Thanks all for your kind words.
Just a little update as I play the waiting game...
Meisterschaft Exhaust is scheduled to arrive in March...can't wait. An air filter and tune will likely accompany this on installation.
Furthermore Renntech Carbon Fibre Front Strut Brace has been ordered. I'll keep you updated and will post pics when things are on the car.
