Not sure about your 2012 model, but I know with 2008, 2009, and 2010, the 3.5mm wire is hidden in the glove box if you have the ipod connector. You need to open the glove box and pull the side paneling apart (easy) on the right (open the passenger door) and there should be a 3.5mm female jack in there.

Alternatively, you can access the additional audio input options by Highlighting the word Audio, and pushing down on the command wheel.

Giving this thread a kick to ask a question about latest BT receivers and DAC devices. I just picked up a 2003 SL55 and I immediately want to upgrade the audio. Would love a new head unit but not sure what my options there are. Not willing to go with the Chinese thing.

Last word on this in this thread was using iStreamer in line with the iPhone connecting to the EQ. I am reading about a DAC that receives input via Bluetooth - the AK XB10. This unit provides both aptX (16-bit) and aptX HD (32-bit) decoding depending on your broadcasting device.

Looks like this could replace the standard BT receiver in the diagram and the DAC unit. I would still have this output go into the EQ via the AUX-IN port.

Anyone try one of these or similar devices?

Thanks.

Sheesh! 10 years owning my 2008 C300 and I didn't know the AUX port was hidden behind the panel to the right of the glove box. When I originally got the car, I had an iPod which worked great. As technology advanced and going through different iPhones, the iPod connector became a dinosaur and was just sitting there. I recently tried a 30pin to lightning adapter which of course did not work. After looking at this thread, I went out to my car and sure enough there was the AUX input! It took less than 5 minutes to remove the iPod cable and attached the AUX input to the inside of the glove box. I will now need to get a lightning to 3.5mm connector (that shouldn't be a problem) so that I can listen to my iPhone through the entertainment system.

I use this product in my w221 streaming mostly off multiple iphone models. Sound quality is fantastic, connectivity is seamless and stable. I havent had it disconnect on me even a single time. Music streams perfectly from Apple Music/iTunes, Spotify, youtube, and many other audio enabled apps (including facebook). The only trouble I have found is when streaming from Tidal or from SoundCloud. With these 2 apps only, the audio buffers a few seconds before playing. With these 2 apps only, also, SOMETIMES you have to press play multiple times before the song actually plays. This happens with these two apps one out of 10 times. Again, only with Tidal and SoundCloud. So far the other streaming apps have played back perfectly and without incident. To add, I've been using this bluetooth interface for close to 2 years, almost daily usage.

C300 Sport Sedan 2011
I just bought a 2011 C300 sport. My radio doesn't even have an aux or mp3 input, but i can't find anywhere that addresses upgrades for this model head unit. All I have is Radio and CD and when you press CD button, CD is the only option shown. Any links to a complete unit upgrade? Thanks!
