Is the engine supposed to sound like this??
Hi, all! I just purchased my first Mercedes, a 2014 C250 Coupe. I love the car, but coming from a Nissan sedan, it feels "heavy" to drive. This surprised me. It also seems as if the engine is loud when I drive slow and idle. Almost feels like a Mustang Saleen or muscle car to drive. I have taken it to 2 different Mercedes specialists and both said there is nothing wrong with the car, but I'm still paranoid of getting a lemon. Is the car supposed to feel heavy to drive with a loud engine?? Your advice is much appreciated!

You are better to post on the sedan as there is a lot more action. The cars are basically identical but with 4 doors
As far as steering feel, benz cars are historically heavy steering cars, It's not you, it's the way cars are built. As far as the engine, it is a 2.5L V6 and will feel a little buzzy if anything. You should have plenty of power to move the car along but it's not a sports car and may even be slower than what you are coming from.
I own both a C300 sedan and a C350 coupe and the power difference is staggering between those two and both have more powerful engines than the 250. They are heavy cars to begin compared to japanese cars, in some cases several hundred pounds heavier which does make them drive "heavier"
Here are some basic specs not knowing what you had or currently have:
2010 Nissan Altima 170HP 2.5L V4 3180 Pounds
2010 Mercedes C250 201 HP 2.5L V6 3523 Pounds (343 more pounds)
2010 Mercedes C250 4 Matic 201 HP 2.5L V6 3726 Pounds (546 more pounds)
Benzes are built to a higher standard than some japanese cars. They use heavier materials etc. They will offer a significantly heavier ride, but should be a more comfortable ride as well
hope that helps

....the '14 C250 Coupe - if it's anything like mine:
has a 1.8 liter turbocharged 4-cylinder M271..........
.........and under full throttle is not exactly subtle nor quiet.
I'd be inclined to listen to your two techs.............

Sorry I'm late with replying, but thank you to all of you for your help! It was helpful to know see the pound difference between some Japanese models and the Benz. This puts my mind at ease as 2 weeks in, I'm still not quite used to the heavier steering and having to put more foot on the gas pedal in order to go. I have driven the C300 and it felt much lighter than the C250, but the power difference makes much more sense.
Atlas: I will post in the Sedan forum from here on out. Thanks for the advice

2014 C350 has the 3.5 V6 @ 302HP
