Buying a used 2013 C250 coupe
Hello everyone,
I'm closing the deal this week on a 2013 C250 coupe with 46,000miles on it. It's in very clean condition as far as exterior and interior, it drives nice and I don't hear any suspension noise or see any leaks.
So my question is, since this car still has 6 months/4000miles worth of warrnty left, what should I do in-terms of "trying to get out as much as possible under the warranty"? And what's the regular maintenance interval for Mercedes (this is my first Mercedes, I always have had Audis, now my wife is driving my Q3)? Can I take my soon to be C250 to the dealer's and ask them to do regular maintenance at 46,000 miles?

I would down load the Mycarfax app and enter the license plate or the VIN number of the vehicle. It will at least give you the car's service history. Google the recommended maintenance schedule. If you are buying it from a dealer then ask them for a carfax history report and ask that they make sure all maintenance is up to date prior to picking it up.

Thanks for the reply guys. I asked the dealer to print out a full service record and it showed that it had been serviced regularly at a Mercedes dealership.
So I closed the deal today, hopefully I will be able to drive it home tomorrow after work. Once it's home, I will take some pictures and post on appropriate thread.
Thanks again.

Congrats on the car. Inspect all trim pieces (i.e. door panels, steering wheel trim, center console, seat stitching, frayed carpeting, etc.) as well as any TSB campaigns which may include:
- updated transmission shifting points
- Cold start issues
- Believe it or not, a software update was needed for my front seats to fully incline/recline
Also, my dealer replaced all center caps and lug nuts because they were getting corroded (all under warranty). Admittedly, my dealer performed almost $15k of work in the one year remaining of warranty which included all the above as well as new front struts and tie rods. I basically have a new car.
Please heed Nickanna's advise: Perform oil changes at 5k miles and use the genuine MB FLeece oil filter. Several aftermarket filters collapse during hard acceleration causing oil starvation... engine dying a horrible death. You may want to introduce yourself to the local MB dealership (service writer) as they can always pull deals out of their hat. I'm paying @ $75.00 for an oil change which is actually cheaper than the local indie yahoos.
Also, (if your mechanically inclined), inspect the spark plugs. Mine were quite corroded at 37K miles and were easily replaced in about 20 minutes. You also may consider replacing the transmission, differential, brake and coolant fluids as well as the serpentine belt (Ok, I'm a bit pro-active with my maintenance). I spread out these services over a period so it doesn't sting so bad. Good luck!
