First report of wiper blade chatter on 2017 coupe.
Well, it looks as thought wiper blade chatter has a long history with the C300 (did the search,) and now lucky me being the first to report it with MB's new coupe on the forum. I'm writing this up so that others may know what they are in for if they have wiper chatter.
When I brought the car in for the chatter, the SA was fully aware of this problem. He told me the service department got a special machine that makes the blade fit perpendicularly to the windshield (BTW the blades fitting at an angle to the windshield is usually the unrecognized cause of chatter...not so much worn blades or dirty windshields.) Of course, service first does try the usual suspects like cleaning the windshield, the blade itself, new blades before going on to the machine. All of which I did, including making the blades perpendicular to the windshield, to no avail. As the blade fitting machine didn't work, I'm now waiting for the arrival of a new MB windshield being trucked in from NJ. Ans, to make matters worse, the SA told me that even with the new windshield, the blades may still chatter...WTF!

This is a shame considering we're thinking more and more about the C coupe for our next ride. I had a C250 that had it, and my wife had a C250 where it didn't happen. Even when I got my E350 it had it but they replaced the wipers and it fixed it, hasn't come back since. It may seem petty to some but it's a very jarring and annoying problem when you're dropping $50k+ on a ride, keep us posted on resolution.

Nothing fixed the chatter until MB replaced the windshield. Good thing this is a leased car, if I had bought it, I would have been terribly upset.

i just changed to an aftermarket blade....problem solved...it's the supplier of their blades that's the problem. You probably will have the problem again at some point with the mb blades. This has been going on for years.

BTW, MB dealership service probably can't wait to do this kind of warranty "repair" as they make a lot more money going through all the steps rather than changing to different blades, eh?
