You can go up to 19" with no problem.
Following is the chart recommended by one of the local tire shop:
195/65R15 - C220, C230, C280
205/55R16 - Sports
225/45R17 - C36 C43
225/40R18 - Plus Size
215/35R19 - Plus 2
225/35R19 - Plus 2

You can go 19x8.5 all around, or if you are daring, go 19x9.5 or 19x10 in the rear - you'll probably have to flare/roll the fender and do some modifications to avoid rubbing.
I have 19x8.5 all around running 235/35/19 without any problems. I'm looking to put a 265/30/19 in the rear sometime soon.
It also depends on the offset of your particular wheel.

There appears to be a number of different views on this subject - a balance between good looks vs, ride quality vs harshness etc.
I posted a similar issue yesterday and the reply clearly is worth bearing in mind. I except that we are talking about two different models here but one must bear in mind practicality and ride vs simply good looks. Depends I guess on what the intended use of your vehicle is.
