C280 noisy vacuum motor
I'd like to replace the door lock vacuum motor which seems to be located somewhere in the right rear. Can someone tell me exactly where it is and about how much they cost? On the other hand it still works and is just quite noisy,,,maybe leave it along? Suggestions and thank you for your help.

Go to a salvage yard and buy one. I know there is a Benz salvage yard in Fontana, which is much closer to you, might give them a call, its called M&M Imports. http://www.mmimports.net/ and they can help you out. Just giving you options of instead of buying them expensive and new if you don't mind getting a used one.

Vacuum pump
Thanks Michael for your comments. I've pretty much decided to live with the "moaning" noise until the pump completely fails and your comments just affirm my decision!

Vacuum pump
Just so you know you're not alone, mine does that too. Every time i turn the car on, it pumps for 5 or so minutes, in 2 second intervals. I've learned to ignore it, but when someone is sitting in the back right seat the loud noise seems to be right in their ear. I've replaced the pump and the deteriorated plastic tubing throughout the doors, to no avail. Oh well haha

My mechanic did the installation, but I do know the E class has it under the rear passenger-side seat, and that the C is a little more difficult to access. You might be able to get at it from the trunk on the passenger-side, or you might need to take out the entire rear deck. It sounds like it's on the side of that rear deck to me.

dude,
the vacuum pump is located in the trunk right side. you might want to tear off the sidings to access it. it's located right after the tensioner springs for the trunk lid.
repaired mine myself. it was last 2009 when the motor fried, had the motor rewound and now it works perfectly. i've learned to live with the buzzing sound for a couple of sec to build up of pressure right after you unlock the door. otherwise, everything's fine though.
good luck with that.
oh, btw tony's right, better settle with a used one and save a ton.
