The blade works amazingly well at removing water off your car, however it doesnt work too good in some spots where your car has curves... thats where the absorber comes in...its like a chamois/microfiber towel but only better, soaks up tons of water, great for cleaning up lil spots the blade missed. no scratching or swirling from either. the blade is made outta some soft silicone and the absorber is like a microfiber sponge, its really soft.

anyone know of a good applicator for applying waxes and polishes? im using 100% terry cloth towels right now.

oh and I still use the leaf blower, but this is a nice alternative when I dont want to go temporarily deaf from using the blower

I would be real careful using that Cali water blade. I hope you don't use it on a dirty car after it rains?

i havent tried it on a rainy day yet

only after a carwash i did... why?

contaminents being rubbed off from the blade?

i have 3 coats of wax on my car atm

would that scratch even thru all that?

Coats of wax are microscopicly thin. Unless you are sure that the rain was really clean and the car had just been washed, never dry it off unless you are using the blower like you are talking about. The water blade is a godsend. The absorber works better than any real or synthetic chamois I have ever used. As far as waxing goes, 100% cotton terry clothes are the best. I like using the terry cloth pads when I hand wax but most of the time I use my buffer.

I would have to agree with nubomb on that one. I would worry about the contaminants on the blade when it rains, cuase rain is not that clean. Also, you have to remember that road splash has a lot of nasty potential scratch causing stuff in it, so I don't think it would be a good idea to use it to get rain off. Now, if go to the car wash and spray off the car real quick and use it after doing that, it would probably be ok.
