So my 2000 c230 kompressor is having issues. I cant get the car out of park, or switch it from reverse to drive. The shifter will simply not budge, so I followed the instructions in the guide to release the lock but its a bit annoying to fiddle around with this button every time I need to drive my car or go in reverse.

So I took it too the dealership and of course, they want to replace the entire unit for $875.

Any way around this guys? Whats your expert advice?
