W202 C200, vacuum pump whirring a lot at times

I have a strange problem with the central locking.
When I lock or unlock the car, you can hear the vacuum pump in the boot making a whirring noise and lasts around 15-20 seconds, it seems like it is going into overdrive or something.
The same thing happens if you open the boot (trunk) and it would make this noise for about 30 seconds. While this is happening, you cannot close the boot as it would come back up, it would only allow the boot lid to close when the noise has stopped.
Sometimes the lock pin on the drivers door drops down even when the car is unlocked, the drivers door would not be able to be opened from the outside, unless you open it from the inside level or press the unlock button on the key to re-open it.

Is the vacuum pump gone?

In DAS the PSE (pneumatic system equipment) it came up with the following fault codes.
B1436 CL safety timeout
-014 Air demand too high
-013 and -012 all doors, fuel filler flap, trunk remote opening

Also within the PSE had
B1752 Alarm triggered through towing sensor
B1709 Alarm signal siren not installed, incorrectly coded or faulty.

Sounds like you have a leak somewhere in the tubes/connectors/etc. for the pneumatic system and that the pump is shutting itself off after running too long but not being able to create a vacuum. You need to fix it soon before you wear out the pump.

Seemed to cure itself after I changed the vacuum pump, unless there was an internal leak in it, confused.
