Here is the part link

I could also be the evaporator core

Notice the core photo, and you can see the 2 hose connections. Possibly, that is the leak
Anyway, good luck

Yes, I am talking about wet carpet inside car. In fact I never saw leaking water from good working A/C under this car. I think that replaced cabin air filter is good idea. But most important for me is to find the clogged drain.
I love this web side. Thank you, ptcruiser

Watch this video
It is going 90 miles an hour, but it would take about 4 to 5 hours if you're a "Mr Good Wrench" type of guy. Notice at about 4.35 minutes into the video, it shows the evaporator quite clearly with the 2 tubes side by side. This connection area is right around the area where the dampness is inside the car.
Before going nuts with it. Check the hose connections going through the fire wall in the engine compartment to see if it's leaking. Also, an air conditioning shop can run dye through the system to detect the leak. If you do that, be 100% sure to pull back the carpet from the front towards the seat, and pack it with old towels or something absorbent, so the dye won't FU the carpets, Blue carpets are not cool.
How hard is it to do? If your not mechanically inclined, you would probably freak out, but the truth is, it's just common sense, patience, and don't reef on things, as working gently is a lot better. If something seems to be stuck, or hard to get out, just stop and observe what may be holding something back.
What would an AC shop charge? Probably a lot if the evaporator is the problem.
Check all easy to do things before thinking about the last alternative.
Nothing worse that finding out it was a hose or clamp that could be fixed in .5 hours for $5.00.
Where are you located?

Cabin filter? I guess it depends on where you live.
Here is a link http://www.ebay.com/itm/191063713838...84.m1439.l2649
I just bought 2 of them, and I replace them every 6 months,
5 minute job
Also, if it hasn't been changed in years, which is probably the case, once you get the panel off under the passenger side below the glove box, you may get a ton of debris.
Then, with your head under the dash, you will see a rectangular black plastic box close to the fire wall. It has 2 white plastic clips that you slide towards the middle of the box, and then pull and wiggle it off. Once it's off, stand back, as there may be more crap come out that you can imagine, The filter is there, and you need to pull it out gently.
Once out, reverse the procedure.
Now, this could also be the area of the problem. It may have crap that is saturated with water, and I use the word maybe... If you have had a ton of rain, it could be so blocked that it is acting like a sponge, and then leaking into the floor area.
Other than what I am telling you, I would be guessing, but these are the most likely things that are causing the problem, and maybe the drain hose as well.
Also, most of the sockets you may need are not common to a tool box. You can get them at a good hardware store.
You will also need the tool to remove the radio and air conditioning units. Cheap as dirt, but necessary.

These are indispensable to work on a MB. All other tool are common, and generally metric.
How am I doing so far :-0
Again, good luck

Well, your just 10 years older than I am......
I would think you need a bit more space that just one parking stall, but who knows?
As there are a lot of screws and little pieces involved if you do need to pull the dash, get a box of plastic baggies, and put the pieces in them with a tag as to what they are, and location. At 82, it should keep you busy, which is a good thing. Never too old to learn, and you get a great feeling of accomplishment when it's done and works.

I just told you, that I love those assistance from MB World, which gives me real help in instructions and courage to do things. Previously I learned how to flush cooling system to find out that I don''t need head gasket job, and I have myself replaced a coin and spark plugs.
So, now I just placed orders for cab filter and socket bits and I will try to do job. I will keep you informed how I am doing.
I do appreciate your patience for my English - I had immigrated from Poland 1987.

I replaced easy an air cab filter, but I did not finish job because these two yellow fasteners which I can not put in right place. I will try tomorrow after good night rest.
Inside was pretty clean and dry, a filter was in good shape but I changed it anyway. After heavy rain inside car is dry, so I think that problem is with clogged A/C hose.

Sometimes it is a real pain to put the bottom cover back on the cabin filter. Generally, it's the back of the cover that you need to work with. The 2 clips should be placed in the middle of the cover, and then slide them back to lock.
Take out the filter and do it one or two times to get the feel of it.
I had a problem the first time as well.
I hope you have found the problem. Did you clean the sunroof drains?

I did not find those drains, but they work, as I see dry inside car after real heavy rain storm.
May I know where are you located. (Today I talked with ms.Sophia about some software and she said that she was in India!)
I have to go to shop because you can reach this draining hose from bottom car only.

Have a look :-)
Most of the outsourcing today is done in India. That's one of the reasons for unemployment in the US. They work for $1.00 an hour if they are lucky, and no real unions to protect them.

So, you said my English is fine... I tried to say that she threaten me of divorce, not divorced me. She will not do this for many reasons, mostly due to money. But now it is too late even to return to Poland.
I would be happy to keep in contact with you, but I believe this Forum has some limit of subjects. May you provide me your E-mail address?
