Here's a weird one. I know that the compressor will automatically shut off when the system is running low on freon, but mine will shut off after 3-5 minutes, but unplugging the climate control unit and plugging in back in will turn it back on. Turning the unit off manually and back to auto does NOT turn it back on, have to pull and unplug from dash.

If the unit was running low on freon (which it was just recharged), you'd think I would have run completely out at this point from jump starting it.

Things to know:

2nd compressor in the car. First one went out at 140k, I'm at 260k now.

Expansion valve was just replaced.

Have 2 climate control units that do the same thing.

Any ideas? It's getting hot here and I worry about it not turning back on at all soon!

Someone local mentioned it might be my evap temp sensor, but that looks like such a non-important part, don't understand why that would kick off the compressor.
