I cannot open my trunk after being parked for a long time. I realized my battery is dead, so I was able to recharge it from the alternator. However, my trunk somehow was locked. I tried to manually open it, using the remote to open it, as well as the button inside the car to open it. None of these have worked.

I may have possibly made the mistake of pushing the trunk down after pressing the remote, because I heard a pop sound. Now the trunk won't open and I cannot switch my battery.

If there's anything you all can suggest for me to do? Or any experts out there that can advise me how to fix it?
