I am new the MB world and just purchased an awesome 1999 C230 Kompressor. The only thing wrong with the car is an annoying rattle,buzz that occurs at certain RPMs and road conditions. I have isolated the rattle coming from the piece or rail or panel at the bottom edge of the door frame on the drivers side. Can anyone tell me how to remove this trim piece so I can assess the source of the buzz/rattle. Please see the picture of the part in question. Would love to know what you call this part as well. The door sill plate is held on with 6 or 8 pin plastic clips.
Just slide something under the edge of the sill plate and gently pry up moving from front to back. It just pops off. Be gentle so you don't break any of the plastic pins.
